Warrior Spikers Get Past Squires; Warsaw Beats Whitko

Syracuse - Wawasee's volleyball team won a three-game match over the Manchester Squires 15-10, 11-15, 15-12 on Tuesday.
Lydia Carpenter had 11 kills and five blocks for Wawasee, while Kara Mathew added five digs and eight kills. Sara Frantz had 25 assists and four digs.
Megan Eckert had 20 assists and five blocks for Manchester. Greta Miller delivered three aces, 10 points and two kills. Jodie Peden had seven digs, six blocks and four kills. Jessica Hicks had two aces, eight points and four digs.
Wawasee won the junior varsity match 13-15, 15-6, 15-4, to improve to 4-2. Gennie Brissette had four kills for the Warriors. Megan Sell had 20 passes and nine service points for Manchester, while teammate Kasie Zile had 18 sets. Manchester's junior varsity team is 2-1.
Wawasee's freshman volleyball team lost two matches on Tuesday. At Mentone, Tippecanoe Valley's freshman volleyball team beat Wawasee 11-15, 15-12, 15-5. In a second match, Warsaw beat Wawasee 15-4, 15-8. Wawasee's freshman team is 0-2.
The Warriors, 4-6, are at Plymouth on Thursday.
The Squires, 4-2, are at Wabash on Thursday.

At South Whitley, Warsaw got back on the winning track with a victory over Whitko on Tuesday.
Shanna Smith and Sam Wideman each had seven kills in the two-set victory. Karla Bailey had 19 assists in the win.
The junior varsity squad defeated Whitko 12-15, 15-4, 15-8 behind Laura Overton's six aces.
The freshman team won twice, defeating Valley on Tuesday 15-2, 16-14 and Wawasee 15-4, 15-8. Kristin Degeeter had four kills for Warsaw against Valley. Chelsea Hartle had nine aces against Wawasee.
Warsaw (3-5) will host Goshen at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
NorthWood Def. LaVille 15-3, 15-8
At Lakeville, NorthWood's volleyball team won its fourth straight on Tuesday to improve to 5-1.
NorthWood's Jamie Gill was 10-for-10 serving and had four kills, three solo blocks and two digs. Natalie Will had seven kills and two solo blocks. Marla Yoder had nine assists. Angela Hattery had 10 assists and four kills. Amy Zercher had four kills.
NorthWood's junior varsity team improved to 5-2 with a 15-4, 15-2 win. Kasey Chamberlin was 11-for-11 serving with two aces. She also had five assists, three kills and one solo block. Erin Newcomer was 10-for-10 serving with two aces, and she added two kills.
NorthWood hosts Concord on Thursday.

The Triton boys won with 18 points, while Bremen had 61 and LaVille 101. The Triton girls won with 27 points, while Bremen had 30 and LaVille 85.
