BOURBON - Warren G. Faulkner, 89, of Atwood, passed away at 4 a.m. Sept. 17, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth, after an illness.

He was born Nov. 9, 1920, in the family residence in Bourbon to Bennie and Nellie Knepper Faulkner Sauer. He was the fifth of 10 children. On Oct. 6, 1942, he married Florence Mitchel, who survives.

He attended Bourbon Schools and graduated in 1938. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 1942, where he was sent to Fort Sill, Okla. He was a Paratrooper in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a Staff Sergeant in the 517th Air Borne. After the war he became a machinist until he retired from Western Rubber, Goshen, in 1982.

Also surviving are three daughters and a son: Sharon (and spouse Larry) Lemler, Bourbon; Connie (and spouse Jerry) Lozier, Tippecanoe; Jackie (and spouse James) White, Hunt, Texas; and Terry (and spouse Bev) Faulkner, Winona Lake; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Chatron, Plymouth, and Harriet (and spouse Dave) Miller, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Clifford Faulkner, Lake Placid, Fla., and Walter Faulkner, Clearwater, Fla.; and a stepbrother, Eldon (and spouse Mary) Sauer, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

No services are planned at this time.
