Walter H. Ottersberg, 73, of Warsaw, died at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2011, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw.

He was born Oct. 15, 1937, in New York, N.Y., to Fred and Lena Haas Ottersberg. On Aug. 3, 1963, in New York, he married Frances Vera Goepper, who survives.

Moving to Warsaw from New York in 1970, he worked at research and development at Zimmer Inc. for 24 years, retiring in 1994. He was a 1955 graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School; earned a bachelor’s degree from Queens College University, New York; and was a registered professional engineer of Indiana.

Also surviving is a son, Karl Ottersberg, Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceded in death by two brothers,  Richard W. Ottersberg, who died Oct. 10, 2000, and  Fred Ottersberg, who died in 1988.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Stuart N. Floyd of the church.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
