ROCHESTER –  Walter Gerald “Bill” McCrosky, 100, of Rochester, died Jan. 10, 2012, in St. Anthony’s Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

He  was born Nov. 29, 1911, to Harley and Birdella Mogle McCrosky. On Jan. 1, 1942, he married Charlotte Jewell, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Fulton High School in 1929 and attended a Purdue Agriculture Short Course. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lend-a-Hand Sunday School class and Fulton Masonic Lodge for 79 years. In 1983 the Fulton Masonic Lodge honored him with a dinner and a program for being a member for 50 years. In 2008, they honored him again for his 75 years of membership. He also was a member of the South Bend Scottish Rite Lodge and the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine. He was a former board member of the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District. He was a retired farmer who lived 100 years in Liberty Township. In June 2011,  after the passing of his wife, he moved to a nursing home in Waterloo, Ill.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Don (and spouse Lois) McCrosky, Waterloo; a daughter, Julia (and spouse Jan) Baas, Berthoud, Colo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Maurice Grindle officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Calling is from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday with a Masonic service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
