NAPPANEE - Walter C. McDonald, 90, formerly of 5 Boulder Ct., Nappanee, died at 5:54 a.m. Dec. 28, 2007, in Brownsburg Healthcare, Brownsburg.

He was born June 29, 1917, in Atlanta, Ga., to Walter M. and Annie Lou Callaham McDonald. On July 11, 1947, in Orlando, Fla., he married Catherine Coppes in Orlando, Fla., who died Jan. 14, 2005.

He moved to Nappanee in 1948. He was associated with Nappanee Milling Co. for 20 years as vice president and chairman of the board. He retired in 1981 from the recreational vehicle business. He was a Navy World War II veteran. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon and elder. He was active for many years in Nappanee Civic Theatre.

Surviving are two sons: Malcolm McDonald, Bisbee, Ariz., and Brian (and spouse Sue) McDonald, Indianapolis; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Terry Tyler officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
