W. Wayne and Betty Walston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 28.
Wayne and the former Betty Smelser were married June 28, 1964, at the United Methodist Church, Millgrove. They are the parents of two daughters, Nicole Walston and Wende (and spouse Jason) Dailey, all of Lawrence, Kan., and a son, Jonathon (and spouse Courtney) Walston, Olathe, Kan. They have four granddaughters: Mina and Shea Dailey; and Amelia and Bailey Walston.
In her retirement, Betty enjoys gardening, golfing, collecting antiques and playing bridge.  Wayne practices elder law as senior counsel for the law firm of Beers, Mallers, Backs and Salin. He also enjoys boating, golfing and bridge.
The couple celebrated their anniversary with a gathering of more than 70 friends and family members at Noa Noa Restaurant, Warsaw, followed by a 14-day vacation through the pacific Northwest, British Columbia and an Alaskan cruise.[[In-content Ad]]

Warsaw Battles Back Down 21-0 To Stun NorthWood 35-21
While Warsaw did not get the start that it wanted facing off against Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood Friday night, the Tigers certainly got the finish they were looking for. Down 21-0 early in the contest, Warsaw battled back, scoring the last 35 points of the game to pick up a 35-21 win in Nappanee, the school’s first since 2012.
