Wal-Mart is making a positive impact on the community, and so is the United Way of Kosciusko County. These two community resources have joined together to make changes for the better.
Wal-Mart Super Center will be running a "can and tag" campaign starting Saturday in their Warsaw store. Cans will be at the checkout lanes for donations from customers. In addition, logo tags will be sold at the checkout for a dollar, and when a tag is purchased, the donor may put his or her name on the tag and have it displayed in the windows of the store. All funds raised will benefit the United Way and its 48 programs.
Wal-Mart also will run an employee campaign Aug. 6. This internal campaign will have a '50s theme and the store will invite their employees to buy chili dogs and root beer floats and have fun while giving back to their community.
Wal-Mart Super Center in Warsaw employs more than 500 people who care that people's lives are affected in a positive way. Wal-Mart and its employees realize when their contribution is added to others' contributions, that's power to bring about changes. United Way is creating long-term solutions and not short-term fixes.
This year's goal for United Way of Kosciusko County is $1.525 million. [[In-content Ad]]
