Voter registration cards must be turned into the Kosciusko County Clerk's office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, by 4:30 p.m. Monday or post marked Monday.
People can register to vote at the Kosciusko County Clerk's office, Bureau of Motor Vehicles or can go to www.in.gov to print applications.
Voters will need to provide either their Indiana driver's license number, Indiana photo identification number or the last four digits of their social security number, according to Ann Torpy, chief deputy clerk.
A person who mails their application into the clerk's office must provide a photo copy of their driver's license, utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document. The documents must show the voter's current name and address.
A voter will receive a voter acknowledgement notice within five to 10 business days after the clerk's office receives their voter registration application. The notice will provide the voter's polling location and district information.
Torpy said voter registration has significantly increased within the last month.
"So far our office has processed 673 applications since Sept. 1," Torpy said. "We are expecting to have at least doubled this amount by the end of our registration period."
Absentee voting also begins Monday at the Kosciusko County Clerk's office. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Voters can vote absentee Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The last day to vote absentee is Nov. 3 at noon.
The clerk's office currently has 676 absentee applications that it's processing and mailing to voters who submitted the applications since Aug. 6, according to Torpy.
To request an absentee ballot by mail, contact the absentee voting office at 574-372-2337.
The deadline for the clerk's office to receive an absentee application to vote by mail is Oct. 27. After that date, the office can no longer mail out absentee ballots.[[In-content Ad]]
