Virginia Pearl Huffman, 91, died at 10:20 p.m. July 9, 2010, at Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake.

She was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Nappanee, to C. Earl and Pearl Yoder Slabaugh. On Jan. 12, 1943, in Nappanee, she married Wallace Huffman, who died Jan. 11, 2008, one day short of their 65th wedding anniversary.

Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was an elementary teacher for 30 years at Oswego, Nappanee and Leesburg. She was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church and Retired Teacher's Association and was past president of Indiana Rural Carrier Association Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Michael (and spouse Joan) Huffman, Hudsonville, Mich.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Nalor, Indianapolis, and Jeanette Johnson, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Leesburg United Methodist Church officiating by Pastor Susan Martin of the church. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
