He was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Wyatt, to Samuel and Bertha Schweisberger Enders. On Dec. 23, 1944, in the Lutheran Parsonage in Bremen, with the Rev. E.G. Dobelstein officiating, he married Dorothy Vollmer, his wife of more than 68 years, who survives.
Retiring from the workforce in 1981 as a finishing machine operator at Bremen Bearings (Universal Bearings), he continued farming. He enjoyed farming and caring for animals. He attended Madison Township School, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Bremen.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda (and spouse Tom) Heisler, Bourbon; two sons, Loren (and spouse Debbie) Enders, Brownsburg, and Gary (and spouse Cheryl) Enders, Logansport; nine grandchildren: Troy (and spouse Brenda) Heisler, Kim (and spouse Jeff) Wanemacher, Jerrod (and spouse Lovisa) Enders, Angela (and spouse Chris) Deatline, Jason (and spouse Sarah) Enders, Kevin Enders, Lindsay (and spouse Preston) Triplett, Brian Enders and Daniel Enders; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Martha Ogle and Mabel Hesch.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen, with the Rev. Roger Rohde and the Rev. Neil Wonnacott officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.
