For those who may not be aware and the news media has failed to report, the American Muslim Community, headed up by Mr. Hassan Abdellah, an attorney from New Jersey and a member of the dar-ul-islam Mosque, has scheduled a prayer vigil that is to take place on the West Wing of the U.S. Capital building from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.[[In-content Ad]]The Capital Police issued Mr. Abdellah a permit for this prayer vigil on July 28. This event is scheduled to bring an estimated 50,000 Muslims from all across the United States who will be chanting the "Athan," the Islamic call to prayer from the Capital grounds. Mr. Abdellah hopes to televise this event on national television. To see more information concerning this event, visit the following Web site at www.islamoncapitalhill.com

Personally, I take issue with the idea that our United States Capital should serve as a prayer rug for a religion that promotes intolerance, hatred, death and world domination. No matter how tolerant, loving and peaceful the ceremony proposes to be, as long as the American Muslim leadership and the American Muslim community refuses to cooperate with our law enforcement and denounce the atrocities committed by their fellow brothers and sisters both here at home and abroad, in my opinion Islam will continue to remain suspect as well as a threat to this nation.

Our nation's director for Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, appointed a gentleman by the name of Kareem Shora born in Damascus to serve on the Homeland Security Advisory Council in a ceremony held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It turns out that Mr. Shora was the former legal advisor for both human and civil rights for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

The American-Arab Discrimination Committee President Mary Rose Oaker stated, "This appointment is a great reflection on Kareem's ability and the work of the American-Arab Anti Discrimination Committee. We are very proud of Kareem and believe his appointment will be very helpful in the protection of the proud of Kareem and believe his appointment will be very helpful in the protection of the civil rights of people with Arab roots as well as others."

Nothing that I read concerning Mr. Shora's background indicated to me that he is qualified to serve in our Homeland Security other than to make the job of law enforcement more difficult to prosecute men and women of Arab decent who are being investigated for having ties or are suspected of terror activity.

Perhaps there are Muslims who are tolerant, loving and peaceful, yet their continued silence speaks louder than their actions. Our brave men and women are fighting and dying to rid the world of those who are using Islam as an excuse to butcher those who refuse to convert to the Islam belief as dictated by Islam doctrine. Yet America and the world continue to live in denial that such atrocities are actually occurring around the world today, while the innocent continue to suffer and die.

I have not heard whether or not Obama is planning to attend this event considering Obama didn't bother to participate in our National Day of Prayer but suggested that all Americans pray in their homes. In my opinion, though the intentions of this rally may have been designed to promote a more peaceful side of Islam, I believe that these efforts will fail considering Islam is one of the primary proponents for the unrest that we are seeing around the world today. This prayer vigil in my opinion is a front to the real truth of what Islamic followers truly believe in accordance with the doctrine of Islam.
