Maybe I’m just too sentimental, maybe it’s because I was rejected from the Army when I tried to join, maybe it’s because I respect those who serve/served so much, but shouldn’t everyone say “thank you” to veterans everyday and not just on Veterans Day?
I told a ’nam vet thank you this morning (Veterans Day) at work, and he got misty-eyed and told me, “Thank you. You know, not many people say thank you anymore. When we came back, we were spit on. I hope those in Iraq and Afghanistan are getting treated better than we were.” After he left, I started crying. That’s awful! People don’t say thank you anymore to veterans. Please, make sure you stop and say thank you to the veterans you see out and about – every day, not just on Veterans Day.
Also, why is it that the flags are put at half mast any other day for others, but not on Veterans Day for those who deserve it because they fought for that flag?

Understanding Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) And Using Them
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
