SOUTH WHITLEY – Vera Lois Fritz Shively, 80, of Mission, Texas, and formerly of South Whitley, died at 3 a.m. April 22, 2012.

She was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Warsaw, to Ralph and Albertha Steffan Fritz.  On Aug. 18, 1950, she married Donald G. Shively, who survives.

She was a 1949 graduate of Larwill High School. She moved to Indianapolis in 1956 and retired from Stokely-Van Camp in 1976. She returned to the Fritz family farm south of Larwill and moved to Mission in 1990. She was a member of Larwill Lions Club and Hidalgo County Coin Club.  

Also surviving are two daughters, Janet L. Nelson, Minnesota, and Carol Lynn Harrington, Virginia; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, is in charge of arrangements.
