Vera Evelyn Pippenger, 86, of Warsaw, died at 12:55 p.m. May 5, 2009, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw.

She was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Bremen, to John Edward and Bertha Irene Hanes Shelton. On Sept. 22, 1940, in Bourbon, she married Arthur Pippenger, who died March 2, 1974.

Living most of her life in Warsaw, she worked in data processing at Zimmer Inc., retiring in 1987. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw.

Surviving are a son, Jay (and spouse Janice) Pippenger, Warsaw; a daughter, Sharon (and spouse Joe) Whicker, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Joe (and spouse Charlotte) Whicker, Elkhart; Linda Boeshart, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Amy (and spouse Greg) Barry, Warsaw; and Craig (and spouse Samantha) Frederickson, Goshen; and three great-grandchildren, Elysia, Erin and Miranda. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Frederickson, who died Feb. 16, 2004; two sisters, Ailene George and Wilma Ringle; and four brothers, Paul, John, Ward and Garnie Shelton.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiating by the Rev. Dennis Bollenbacher, chaplain at Mason Health & Rehabilitation, Warsaw.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
