Mark and Melanie Vanlaningham, Mentone, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Vanlaningham, Mentone, to Chad Dennie, Palestine. He is the son of Mike and Donna Dennie, Bourbon, and Shaun and Brenda Bruner, Palestine.

The bride-to-be graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 2006, and is studying special education: mild to moderate interventions and elementary education with a reading specialist concentration at Purdue University, West Lafayette, expecting to graduate in May 2011.

The groom-elect graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 2008 and is studying computer information technology: network engineering technology at Purdue University, expecting to graduate in May 2012.

The couple plan a June 11, 2011, wedding.
