VanDeWater 50th

G. Curtis and Patricia Carol VanDeWater, 4391 N. CR 300W, Warsaw, will celebrate their 50th anniversary in early December.

Curtis and the former Patricia Smith were married Dec. 4, 1960, by the Rev. M.O. King, at Clunette United Methodist Church.

Curt worked nearly 35 years before retiring from Sprint. Patricia retired from Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. after nearly 35 years.

The couple have five children: William Curtis, deceased; DeShawn Lee (and spouse Mike) Wert, Sweetser; Gregory David (and Tonya Davis) and Leslie Dawn (and spouse Douglass) Jeffreys, all of Warsaw; and Julia Carol VanDeWater, Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

To mark the special event, the couple traveled west by train and bus to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.

Their children are planning a special reception for the couple in spring 2011.
