Valley Spikers Win Manchester Invite

NORTH MANCHESTER - For the third straight year, the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings came away with the Manchester Invite title. The Vikings didn't lose a game, beating Caston 25-8, 25-14, Lakewood Park 25-11, 25-12, host Manchester 25-22, 25-15. Heidi Bruner led the way for the Vikings with 29 points and eight aces.

Lindsay Wiley had 48 assists on the day for Valley to go with 10 digs, 21 points, six aces and three blocks.

The Vikings, 6-1, will play at Pioneer Wednesday.

Manchester defeated Lakewood Park 25-18, 25-14 and Caston 25-11, 25-20 before falling to Valley. The Squires host Wawasee tomorrow.

Kasey Bollier led the day with 61 assists. Jen Minear had nine blocks and 38 kills. Wawasee, 5-4, travel back to Manchester tomorrow at 6 p.m.

The Wawasee Warriors hosted South Bend Riley and came away with a 4-1 victory. The Warriors opened the scoring early when just over a minute into the match, Tim Polsean knocked in a shot from the left side to make it 1-0. In the eighth minute, Austin Kaiser, on a pass from Ryan Beer, made the score 2-1 and never looked back. Wawasee, 3-1, travels to LaVille at 6:30 p.m.
