Valley Softball Hold Off Triton For 6-5 Victory

AKRON – After staking visiting Triton to a 3-0 lead, Tippecanoe Valley came back to take the lead, then went on to win 6-5 in a girls softball game Wednesday evening.
Katie Gunter was the winning pitcher for Valley, going for five innings and striking out four. She also had a double in the game. Abby Betten had a double among her two hits, and Katie Prater had three singles. Kayla Scott singled twice and scored twice, and Kaitlyn Ott singled twice and scored a run. Sydney Howard scored twice for the Lady Vikings.
Triton’s Kaci Pugh singled three times and scored a run. Courtney Jennings had a double among her two hits, with Tatum Hargrave and Nichole Sechrist adding a pair of singles each for the Lady Trojans.
Valley will host Winamac today, and Triton will host Wawasee at 11 a.m. Saturday.
