Valley Offers Adult Ed Classes

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley Community Adult Education Program will offer several classes in early March.

The classes start include:
• Drawing 101 – Explore the basics of good drawing, contour drawing, shading and drawing with perspective. Teacher is Brenda Ramseier. The two-hour class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. March 5, 12, 19 and 26. Cost is $48 and includes all materials.
• Magic & Mystery of Watercolor – How do you use color and mix paint? Complete a project using a different watercolor technique. All supplies provided. Teacher is Jan Ginter. The three classes will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. March 3, 10 and 17. Cost is $15 per class or $40 for all three classes.
• Learning to Needle Felt – One three-hour session to learn what is needle felting. Construct a three-dimensional critter with a wire armature, cover and sculpt with wool roving. The class meets from 6 to 9 p.m. March 31. Cost is $15 and all supplies are provided. Jan Ginter teaches.
• Zumba, Zumba, Zumba – Ditch the workout, join the party. Many classes are offered, and each class is one hour from start to finish. Eva Rudd will teach the class from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and cost is $3 per class.
• Open Weight Room – Cardio, weights and brand new treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary equipment. Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 8 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Free.
• Open Swim – Come and use the pool for open swim Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $2 per person. Sponsored by the Tippecanoe Valley Aquatic Club.
• Amateur Radio Technician Class – Sponsored by Hoosier Lakes Radio Club, amateur radio is the backup communications system for all emergencies, but you have to be licensed. This class will prepare you for the license test and you will be able to join others in the world of amateur radio.
Instructors are Lyle Long and Loren Melton. Cost is $30 for study materials, lunch and snacks.
Registration fee is due March 5. Orientation is 6 to 8 p.m. March 12. The two classes are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 and 18.
