Valley Names Top Students

AKRON - Brittany Northcutt is the valedictorian and Stuart Jackson and Mark Weber are co-salutatorians for Tippecanoe Valley High School's class of 2004.

Northcutt, the daughter of Paul and Cathy Northcutt, Warsaw, was editor of the school newspaper, a teacher's assistant at taekwondo and was in art club and creative writing club. She was a National Merit Scholar and the recipient of the University of Rochester Humanities/Social Sciences award. She plans to go to Purdue University and study engineering.

Jackson, the son of Cal and Jane Jackson, Mentone, was a member of student government, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Art Club, Peers Educating Peers and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was on the varsity tennis, basketball and baseball teams. He received the 12-sport award and South Bend Tribune Blue Ribbon Senior award; was academic all-conference in tennis, basketball and baseball, and received honorable mention in academic all-state basketball; received a Hoosier Scholar Award, Art Award, Chemistry Award, Marion Crawley Award, U.S. Army Reserve Award and Wendy's High School Heisman Award; and was named to the Rochester Sentinel Top 10. He plans to study engineering at Purdue.

Weber is the son of David and Susan Weber, Akron. A member of National Honor Society, he also received the DAR Good Citizen Award, Purdue valedictorian scholarship, Purdue Academic Success Award and Indiana Resident Top Scholars Award.
