SYRACUSE - V. Irene Willard, 94, formerly of the Barbee Lakes area, died at 9:30 p.m. June 18, 2010, in Grace Village Retirement Community.

She was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Jay County, to Walter and Iva Mae Pace Burgess. On June 25, 1936, she married Carl D. Willard, who died in 1984.

She moved to the Barbee Lake area in 1960 coming from Detroit, Mich. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Dutchtown Brethren Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (and spouse Carl) Sattison, Barbee Lake, and Pamela (and spouse William) Templeton, Middlebury; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, John; two sisters; and a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor Robert Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery.
