United Way Welcomes 2004 Pacesetter Companies
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
United Way of Kosciusko County welcomes the companies that will lead the United Way 2004 campaign. Nelson Beverage, SYM Financial, Biomet Inc. and Dalton Foundry will "set the pace" for all other Kosciusko County companies for the community campaign.
Pacesetter companies are taking a leadership role in the 2004 United Way campaign.
Pacesetters run their companies' employee campaigns before the end of August.
Pacesetters are volunteer companies that find new creative ways to raise dollars from their company for the community. Companies have internal "keyleaders" who will recruit team members within the company, and who will then plan and orchestrate the running of the campaign. Keyleaders then assist other companies by giving them new ideas and things that worked for their company.
The 2004 campaign theme will be "Jazzing up your community with Mardi Gras." With jazz music, cajun food, Mardi Gras masks and other Louisiana favorites, keyleaders will use creative ideas to generate excitement and enthusiasm. Companies will use the theme to create an atmosphere where people can learn about the United Way and what the dollars raised really do.
The overall community campaign goal this year is set at $1,525,000.
In the internal employee campaigns, this year they will challenge themselves to increase the overall participation and achieve a double digit increase over their last year's campaign giving level. The best way to achieve a double digit increase is to follow three basic rules.
• Make your campaign educational. Educate every employee about the benefits of donating to the United Way. Ninety-three percent of all dollars raised are available to fund 48 programs that are administered by 28 participating agencies. Each program has its own way of making an impact to better the lives in our community.
• Have fun! Each company runs their campaign differently, but all have one thing in common; they have a good time.
• Pacesetters use the motto: "Plan long and run fast." Most companies take up to three months planning their campaigns and run the campaign within a 24-hour period.
With the employees' help, their campaigns will get results, and results are what matters.
But most of all, Pacesetter companies are working together to raise dollars for our community. What matters to the United Way of Kosciusko County is finding answers to long-term problems, not short-term fixes.
The Pacesetter companies look forward to the fun and spirit of this challenge and ask the public to lend their best effort in support of the United Way of Kosciusko County. [[In-content Ad]]
