United States Steelworkers and other labor groups will visit Warsaw Saturday to encourage residents to focus on middle-class and labor concerns.

A "Rebuild America: Main Street Revolution" rally will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kosciusko County Courthouse, 100 W. Center St., Warsaw.

There are a series of rallies planned at the same time Saturday in Logansport, Lafayette and Fort Wayne, according to Teri Luna, administrative assistant for United Steelworkers District 7, Sub District 4. She said there also are tentative plans to hold rallies in South Bend and Mishawaka.[[In-content Ad]]The rallies are a part of a national effort the Steelworkers are leading in conjunction with AFL-CIO.

Luna said people who have lost their jobs, who want to see change, are encouraged to attend the rally.

The Steelworkers want people to turn out and show support for spending U.S. tax dollars on U.S. products; investing tax dollars in U.S. manufacturing and infrastructure jobs; developing incentives to create and retain U.S. jobs; and making it easier to unionize.

Luna said Steelworkers will walk and hold signs encouraging U.S. job creation and healthcare issues in America.

There also are rallies planned Feb. 28, and March 14 and 28 in Indiana.

"We want our tax money spent to rebuild America, not China," Luna said.
