Editor, Times-Union:
Warning. “If you have government big enough to give you everything you want, you’ll have a government big enough to take everything you have.” So spoke Speaker of the House, John Boehner.

Following three-plus years of tyrannial rule by our current Washington regime led by President Obama and all of a Democrat-controlled Congress (House and Senate) the first two years, many thousand pages of legislature like Obamacare (most never read) were speedily and mafia-like signed into law. The total debt and effect of these dictates place incomprehensible financial and unimaginable burdens on this generation as well as many generations yet unborn.

Question? Is your government big enough yet? Has it yet given you all you want? Has your trust in government grown? What about your trust in God?

Tragically, most Christians and their pastors still remain silent. Feared losses of funds and membership for violating government’s 501(c)3 rules is the probably reason. Could it be government is feared more than God?

In 2000 A.D. from liberal pulpits across our country, President Clinton, V.P. Al Gore and most black pastors urged blacks to vote Democrat. Ninety-three percent of blacks obeyed. Illegalities, like 501(c)3, never stop Democrat-liberals. Such rules never apply to them. Adding insult to injury, Rev. Jesse Jackson added that it was proper to break the law for a “righteous” cause. This cause, of course, was to elect all Democrats.

These “righteous causes” liberal pastors, using their bully-pulpits, support abominations such as abortion, homosexuality and “social justice.” Remember Pastor Jeremiah Wright (Pres. Obama’s pastor for 20 years)? Wright defined “social justice” as the redistribution of wealth by federal government, i.e. federal government’s taking the wealth of “the haves” and distributing (giving) it to the “have nots.” How’s this going for you and yours? Are you yet better off today than four years ago?

By contrast, when causes are truly biblical, pulpits must be used by both ordained and lay leaders to educate all regarding especially God’s absolute truths. Consider, for example, President Obama’s position on abortion allowing for taking the lives of not only unborn children but also the surviving botched abortions. Consider also the president’s position on homosexuality resulting in his total disregard and trashing DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) as he likewise repealed our military’s “don’t tell” policy. Wouldn’t God’s Word call abortion murder? homosexuality sodomy? and “social justice” theft?

Thankfully, there still remain conservative voices like Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and conservative media like Fox News Channel. These and others like them all courageous enough to put their very lives at risk to educate and speak the truth regarding not only the present but also the past concerning our country’s foundation.

Before Election Day Nov. 6, hopefully each eligible, informed, and registered voter will ask and answer by their votes the question conservative republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney asks: “Are you better off today than you were three years ago?”
