Tyler Enlists In Co. A

Tim Tyler recently enlisted into Company A, 1st Battalion of the 293rd Infantry, Indiana Army National Guard in Warsaw.

Tyler attended Columbia City High School and currently resides in North Webster. He is the son of Melesa Banning, Columbia City.

According to recruiter Staff Sgt. Dan Murphy, Private Tyler enlisted as an Infantryman and will attend basic training and his advanced individual training in Ft. Benning, Ga. He will learn basic military skills such as first aid, land navigation and basic rifle marksmanship, as well as offensive and defensive combat operations. At the completion of his training, Tyler will return to Indiana and continue his work with the Army National Guard in Warsaw.

Tyler received the Indiana Army National Guard 100 Percent State College Tuition Assistance Program, the Montgomery G.I. Bill and a substantial cash bonus.
