Two area men were arrested Monday night following an incident involving battery with a handgun.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Chad Hill, officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute around 3:16 p.m. Monday at 1909 Miami Drive, Warsaw. Hill said two male subjects arrived at the home and began an argument with the two residents – one man and one juvenile female – eventually striking one of the residents in the head with a handgun and leaving the scene.
The victims identified both subjects and all agencies were notified of the incident. One subject, Michael Anthony Lewis, 23, of 5153 W. Corlys Lane, Silver Lake, was later located near the Marathon gas station on U.S. 30 near Commerce Drive in Warsaw just after 7 p.m. After a short pursuit, officers apprehended Lewis and arrested him.
Lewis was charged with carrying a handgun without a license, battery with a deadly weapon, possession of paraphernalia and resisting law enforcement. He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail and held on a $4,000 bond.
During the investigation, officers obtained information on the whereabouts of the second subject involved in the battery, identified as Andrew Keith Alexander, 22, of 5769 W. Quail Road, Mentone. Alexander was later located at 4731 E. CR 100S, Mentone, and taken into custody. He was charged with domestic battery and domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16 and held on a $1,000 bond.
Officers executed a search warrant of the Mentone property and secured the firearm used in the battery.[[In-content Ad]]
