Two Held On Meth Charges

Indiana State Police arrested two Warsaw men Wednesday after a vehicle and foot pursuit on the west side of Kosciusko County.

Ryan Michael Kauffman, 26, of 1122 S. Honeybee Court, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, fleeing law enforcement, and on an outstanding battery warrant out of Kosciusko County. Kauffman's bond was set at $100,000.

James Albert Hoskins, 40, of 216 S. Bronson St., was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and on an outstanding molesting/fondling warrant out of Kosciusko County. Hoskins' bond was also set at $100,000.[[In-content Ad]]At approximately 11:45 a.m., Nappanee police officers initiated a vehicle pursuit involving a possible mobile methamphetamine lab. Officers pursued the vehicle from Nappanee to Etna Green where the suspect vehicle was abandoned behind the Etna Green Fire Station.

Several area police agencies surrounded the area and state police began a canine track of the suspects, which led them to an outside cellar behind a residence.

Troopers Mick Dockery, Jeff Wampler and Kosciusko County Deputy Billy Fields located the two suspects with weapons and various drugs.

Trooper Wampler advised that officers located 7.2 grams of methamphetamine, more than 8 grams of marijuana, 12.9 grams of ephedrine, along with two handguns inside the fruit cellar. A second vehicle located on the property was then discovered to contain a full meth lab inside the trunk that was dismantled and secured by state police late Wednesday.

Departments assisting in the incident included Nappanee Police Department, Bremen Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Mentone Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police.
