Two Arrested In Connection with Three Burglaries

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and officers with the North Webster Police Department responded to a burglary in progress Friday afternoon in the 8000 block of Syracuse/Webster Road, Syracuse.
Officers arrived to find relatives of the homeowners detaining a suspect, identified as Corey Hurst Ritchie, 24, Warsaw, who had fled from the residence.
Officers also located items that were stolen from the home and transported Ritchie to the Kosciusko County Jail, where he was arrested on a preliminary charge of felony burglary to a residence or dwelling.
On Saturday, KCSD officers learned of information that led to the residence of Zackery Hernandez, 23, Arthur Street, Warsaw, which implicated his involvement in at least one other residential burglary. Hernandez was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony burglary of a residence or dwelling, along with a second charge of felony theft.
Sheriff’s detectives stated both men are connected to at least three different residential burglaries in the last two months.
Ritchie’s bond was set at $50,000 while Hernandez’s bond was set at $10,000.
