Tippecanoe Valley High School is 33 years old this year.[[In-content Ad]]Three years ago, several members of the first few graduating classes decided to try to start an alumni association and began collecting addresses at a booth at the Egg Festival and the Akron Fourth of July. Since then, Internet technology has caught up with the group's ambition.

The Tippecanoe Valley Alumni Association is being created to enrich the lives of the graduates of schools within the Valley School district by providing them with opportunities to reconnect with each other and be of service to the community.

This site is being launched with the knowledge, support and assistance of the school corporation and the Northern Indiana Community Foundation. But it's all being done with volunteers. No public or grant funds have been spent on it and no one is making any money from it.

The alumni association proposes to compile a database directory, provide an online newsletter, help organize class reunions, recruit mentors to current students, participate in career days, create a resource network of Valley Grads and contribute financially or as volunteers to special projects at the schools.

The public information on the site is available to other Valley graduates who can only get on the site with an invitation from another member. The private information on one's profile is available only to the guidance staff at the high school and staff of the Northern Indiana Community Foundation in Rochester.
