Triton Softball Team Tops Culver Academy

BOURBON – Courtney Jennings pitched a complete game, striking out three over seven innings in Triton’s 8-6 home win over Culver Academy Thursday evening.
Halie Zimmerman had two hits for the Lady Trojans, with Lexee Lemler driving in three runs and Taytum Hargrave adding two RBIs for Triton.
The game was tied at 2-2 after four innings, and Culver  Academy scored once to take retake the lead in its half of the fifth frame.
The lead was short lived, as Triton scored twice to take its first lead of the game. The Lady Trojans expanded their lead to 8-3 with a four-run sixth inning, then withstood a Lady Eagle rally to secure the win.
The Lady Trojans return to Northern State Conference play this afternoon when they travel to Walkerton and take on John Glenn.
