TRITON SCHOOL CORP - SCHOOL BOARD SEATS

    Triton School Corporation will have two school board seats up for election on November 6, 2012 for the Bourbon Township and the At-Large districts. Candidates must reside within the same district they wish to represent and must have at least 10 signatures of registered voters. At-Large candidates may reside anywhere within the corporation. All nomination petitions must be filed in Marshall County. Any signatures received from Etna township patrons must be taken to Kosciusko County to be verified, and then the petition must be taken to Marshall County to be filed. Nomination petitions may be obtained from the County Circuit Court Clerk or from the Triton Administration Office. The last day to file is no later than noon on August 24, 2012 .
    The Indiana School Boards Association is hosting School Board Candidate Forums to inform new candidates and incumbents running for re-election about school boardsmanship. Topics to be discussed include the roles and responsibilities of being a school board member, ethics, and legal responsibilities. Time is allotted for questions. Cost is $35. Each candidate will receive a school board candidate's kit which contains valuable information on the financial, legal, and ethical aspects of serving on a school board. The candidate forum will be held from 6:30 - 9:00 PM and is subject to cancellation if there are less than 5 registrations. The forum for Triton School Corporation candidates (Region 2) is Tuesday, July 17 at the Plymouth Schools Administration Building, 611 Berkley Street, Plymouth, IN.
