Triton Leads Prep Roundup With Tennis Win Over Jimtown

BAUGO – Triton’s girls tennis team earned its fourth Northern State Conference win in five tries with a 4-1 win over Jimtown.
The Lady Trojans won both doubles matches and two of three singles matches, all in straight sets.
South Bend Riley will visit Bourbon and take on Triton Monday afternoon.

The quartet of Haley Yohe, Silveus, Kennedy Krull and Emily Hughes combined for six doubles in the contest.
Whitko is back in action Monday in Denver against North Miami.

Thursday in N. Manchester
Manchester’s girls track team finished second and the boys third in the Wabash County Meet held on the Squire track Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Rae Bedke was a double winner for the Lady Squires, winning the 800 and 1600 runs. Tahnee Fuentes won the 100 and teamed with Kaitlyn Blum, Ali Casper and Alyssa Peyton to win the 4x100 relay.
Leah Sorg was the winner in the long jump. Bailey Sewell and Madison Isbell finished 1-2 in the discus.
On the boys side, Jacob Casper won the shot put, and Heath Dierks was second in the discus. Cody Freeman was second in the high jump for the Squires.
Colin McNeeley registered a pair of second-place finished in the 100 and 200 dashes, and Thomas Rohr was second in the 3200.
Both Manchester squads will next compete in the Three Rivers Conference meet at Southwood in Wabash on Thursday.
