She was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Clunette, to William and Nancy Hall Martz. On June 15, 1935, in Bourbon, she married John Hoffer, who preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1997.
She lived the first 60 years of her life in Kosciusko County until moving to Florida, where she lived for 30 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Atwood.
Surviving are one son, Douglas (and spouse Phyllis) Hoffer, Warsaw; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hoffer, Warsaw; nine grandchildren: Steven (and spouse Mary) Hoffer, Roseau, Minn.; Kathy Horrall, Chesapeake, Va.; Darlene (and spouse Brad) Whaley, Warsaw; Michael Kelley, Dothan, Ala.; Brett Hoffer and Jennifer Schlegel, both of Fort Wayne; Lori Verkamp, Jasper; and Kelli Anderson and Stephanie Stovall, both of Sarasota, Fla.; three step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and three step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry F. Hoffer, and one grandson, Jon W. Hoffer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will also be at a later date.
