Train Hits Abandoned Car; Car Determined To Be Stolen

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department responded to a call at the CSX Railroad tracks on CR 300E, near CR 1300N, of a car struck by a train.
A dark blue Hyundai, registered to David Martinez, Ligonier, was stuck beneath a train nearly 50 yards west of the railroad crossing.
Nobody was in the car at the time.
When police reached Martinez, he said his vehicle had been stolen.
The accident and theft of Martinez's vehicle remain under investigation.
