By Staff Report-

A routine traffic stop by the Bourbon Police Department resulted in the arrest of two individuals from the Oswego area on various charges by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force.

An individual that was stopped by the Bourbon Police Department Monday provided information that Burton J. Blackmer, 5663 North Warsaw/Oswego Road, Warsaw, had been working a meth lab from his residence, according to a press release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

Officers were able to obtain consent to search the property from the actual landowner and found the remnants of a meth lab at the Oswego residence. Blackmer was not at the residence.

It also was discovered that Blackmer had several outstanding warrants for his arrest through Marshal County. With the assistance of the Bourbon Police Department, Blackmer was located hiding in his brother's bathtub at a Bourbon residence.

Blackmer was arrested on Marshal County warrants for possession of marijuana, prior driving on a suspended license, resisting law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility and false and fictitious registration.

Charges also have been filed by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force for the operation of an illegal meth laboratory.

Also arrested at the Bourbon residence was Blackmer's girlfriend, Brittnie M. McVoy, also of 5663 North Warsaw/Oswego Road. McVoy was arrested on a Marshal County warrant for failure to appear.

Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is asked to call the Drug Task Force at 574-372-2494.[[In-content Ad]]
