Traffic Stop Brings Meth Bust

PIERCETON - A mobile meth lab was found during a traffic stop Friday night in Pierceton, leading to the arrest of two Kosciusko County residents.

Darrell Hatcher, 24, of 586 S. Ind. 13, Pierceton, was arrested late Friday night, and Elizibeth Ilene Likens, 23, of 3750 Lake City Highway, Warsaw, was arrested early Saturday morning for manufacturing methamphetamine. Each is being held on $20,000 bond.[[In-content Ad]]According to information from the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, Pierceton Town Marshal Tim Sammons stopped a pickup truck near the intersection of Market and Main streets in Pierceton around 10 p.m. Friday.

During the traffic stop, Sammons noticed the odor of methamphetamine production coming from the rear area of the vehicle.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was called to the scene and found a mobile methamphetamine lab in the tool box in the bed of the pickup.

Both Hatcher and Likens were taken into custody and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called to the scene to secure the hazardous material involved with the lab.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Pierceton Police Department and the Warsaw Police Department all assisted at the scene.
