Robert and Kristine Brewer, Maryville, Tenn., and William and Cass Poe, Mentone, announce the engagement of their daughter, Dawn Townsend, to Christopher Millsaps. He is the son of Bill and Linda Staritt.

The bride-to-be works at Food City, Maryville. She graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School, Akron, in 1999.

The groom-elect is a stocker at Wal-Mart, Maryville. He graduated from William Blount, Maryille, in 1992, and attended ITT Tech, Knoxville, Tenn. He served in the U.S. Army.

The couple plan a Oct. 27, 2012, wedding.
