Top Students Announced At Lakeland Christian Academy

WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy announced its honor students for the class of 2014.
In addition to valedictorian and salutatorian, Lakeland Christian also awards a Timothian Award. The Timothian Award is unique to LCA, is based on 1 Timothy 4:12 and is awarded by the faculty to the senior(s) who exhibits excellence in spiritual leadership and character.
Hannah Remington is valedictorian. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bill Remington, Warsaw. She has attended LCA for six years. She earned a cumulative numeric average of 98.39.
She led an LCA community service group, was on the Student Worship Arts Team, National Honor Society and is the treasurer of the class of 2014. She plans to attend Grace College in the fall and will study exercise science.
Matthew McQuade, this year’s salutatorian, is the son of John and Joy McQuade, Claypool. He earned a cumulative numeric average of 97.37. He has attended LCA for three years.
He is the senior class vice president, a National Honor Society member and the treasurer of the NHS. He has been active in the LCA athletic department participating in soccer and track. McQuade will attend Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall and will study exercise science.
Ashlyn Plastow and Christopher Silveus both were awarded the Timothian.
Ashlyn Plastow is the daughter of Marc Plastow and Tammy Plastow, Warsaw. She has attended LCA for six years.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Worship Arts Team. She has participated in LCA’s basketball and track programs. Plastow plans to attend Ivy Tech and will study early childhood education.
Christopher Silveus is the son of Scott and Cindy Silveus, Winona Lake. He has attended LCA for six years.
He has been a part of Lakeland Christian’s athletic department each year participating in soccer and basketball. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Silveus plans to attend Grace College in the fall.
The graduation ceremony is Saturday at Lakeland Christian Academy, Winona Lake.[[In-content Ad]]
