The Tommy Castro Band will be the Blues and BBQ concert performer for Warsaw Parks Department's summer concert series.

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved an agreement with Rosebud Agency for the group to perform for $7,000.

The concert will be July 9 at 8 p.m. at Glover Pavilion in Central Park.

The board previously approved country musician Jimmy Wayne to be the headliner for the country concert July 23 at 8 p.m. in Glover Pavilion.

The board also previously approved classic rock band Foghat to be the headliner for the Classic Rock concert June 18 at 8 p.m.

In other business, the board approved Warsaw Police Department to apply for a grant from the Victims of Crime Act through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

The department is requesting federal funds of $51,000, with a 21 percent match of $10,200 for a total program cost of $61,200. The funds will be used for the department's victim assistance program.

The board tabled approving a request by the Warsaw Fire Department to apply for a 2010 Indiana Homeland Security Foundation Grant for $4,000. Tabling the request will allow Warsaw Fire Chief Mike Rice to put together a contract for the grant.

The grant would provide funds to purchase equipment for the newly formed technical rescue team.
