Max and Rhea Tom, Syracuse, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carmen Gwen Tom, Elkhart, to Casey Lee Westlake. He is the son of John and Pam Gordon, Elkhart, and Steve and Pam Westlake, Bristol.

The bride-to-be is employed by Keystone RV, Goshen. She is a 1997 graduate of Wawasee High School, Syracuse.

The groom-elect is employed by Lippert Components, Goshen. He is a 1994 graduate of Concord High School, Elkhart.

The couple plan an Aug. 23 wedding.
