MENTONE - Andria Parker had six kills and Rhonda Doud added 18 assists as Valley defeated North Miami 15-5, 13-15, 15-11 on Tuesday in the TRC opener for the Vikings.

Brooke Fisher added four kills, one ace and 15 service points and Jennifer Studebaker had four kills and five blocks in the win.

The junior varsity team fell to 5-4 with a 6-15, 15-5, 15-5 loss to North Miami.

Valley (4-5, 1-0) will host Triton at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

NorthWood Over South Bend Riley 15-2, 15-7

At South Bend, Jamie Gill and Angela Hattery each had five kills and Natalie Will added three blocks as NorthWood cruised on Tuesday.

Will added three aces and Marla Yoder had 12 assists for the Panthers.

The junior varsity team won 15-7, 15-10 to improve to 7-3 on the year. Jessica Yoder had five kills and Erin Newcomer had nine assists in the win.

NorthWood (8-1, 1-0) will be at Plymouth on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Lakewood Park Over

LCA 15-13, 15-11

Janelle Sou had three kills, but LCA lost to Lakewood Park on Tuesday. Kelly Custer added seven points for the Cougars.

The junior varsity team also lost 15-12,15-8 to fall to 0-4 on the season. Michelle Cripe had two aces for Lakeland.

LCA (3-5) will be at Trinity on Friday.

Manchester 14-16, 16-14, 15-10

At North Manchester, the Squires kicked off a string four straight home dual matches with a Tuesday loss to Columbia City.

Michelle Gerber had nine kills, 11 digs and 19 blocks for Manchester, while teammate Jodie Peden added six kills, nine digs and 10 blocks. Megan Eckert had three aces and 14 assists, while Amanda White had 10 kills. Megan Goshert chipped in with six digs.

In junior varsity action, Columbia City won 16-14, 15-6. Jeanne Rodriguez had nine points for the Squires, while Jenny Olsen had 13 passes and a dig. Carri White had four blocks, and Bree Day had nine assists. Manchester's junior varsity team is 3-2.

Columbia City won the freshman match 15-5, 15-12. Jenny Brubaker served five points the first game and six points the second for the Squires (3-1).

Manchester, 6-6, hosts a 6:30 p.m. Thursday match with Whitko.

At North Manchester, Erica Pontious and Terra Weaver both shot personal bests as Tippecanoe Valley defeated Whitko on Tuesday. Pontious shot medalist honors with a 49 and Weaver added a 54 in the win. Whitko was led by Kelly Walters with a 53.

At Elkhart, the Warsaw boys cross country team lost 18-40 to Goshen, ranked No. 6 in the state, but defeated Concord 23-34 on Tuesday. The girls team lost to Goshen 19-44 and Concord 22-33.

David Hoffert placed fourth with a time of 17:18 and Will Woodward finished seventh with a 17:43.

Summer Boyd placed second overall with a time of 16:23 for the girls team.
