Tippy Valley Treasurer Lauded

MENTONE - Sherri Adamson, Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. treasurer, received recognition Monday night at the school board meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Daniel Kramer read a letter from the Indiana Association of School Business Officials recognizing Adamson for completing certification for an office specialist. To qualify for that certification, Adamson had to be an association member and complete all the requirements.[[In-content Ad]]Kramer said Adamson is an asset to the corporation. She completes her duties to a high level, and Kramer said he appreciates all that she does.

In other business, the school board:

n Accepted grants from: Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Akron grade four Electric Circuit Project, $600; Fulton County Community Foundation, Reality Spanish & English, $3,600; Kosciusko Coalition on Drug Education, student random drug testing, $1,500.

n Approved Leslie Brouyette as grade six girls basketball, Tippecanoe Valley Middle School; Rhonda Doud Ramsey, grade eight girls basketball, TVMS; Tyler Fisher, assistant baseball coach, Tippecanoe Valley High School; and John Strong, head softball coach, TVHS.

n Accepted a donation of printer ink cartridges from Midwest Poultry.

n Approved the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. financial goals. New legislation requires school corporations to identify financial goals.

Valley's three goals are to: Improve the ration of student instructional expenditures to all other expenditures; achieve financial stability by continuous monitoring of revenues and expenditures that promote student academic achievement and instructional support; and implement programs which utilize cooperative purchasing, outsourcing of facilities and operations, and development of collaborative efforts with other educational services to reduce overhead, operational and non-operational expenditures.

n Announced the upcoming meetings as: Jan. 21, Burket Educational Center, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 12, TVMS, 7:30 p.m.; and March 10, TVHS, 7:30 p.m.

School board members are Mark Wise, Bryan Murphy, Hal Hoffman, Rod Eaton and Dave O'Brien. O'Brien was absent.
