Tippecanoe Valley To Offer Community Fitness And Wellness Opportunities

AKRON - The Tippecanoe Valley School Corp.'s Health & Fitness Committee has a variety of fitness/wellness activities planned for an eight-week period in January.

The fitness/wellness activities are open to members of the Tippecanoe Valley community 18 years of age and older.

The weight room and hallways of Tippecanoe Valley High School will be available each Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. starting Jan. 12 and continuing through March 4. The hallways will be available for those who wish to exercise by walking. The weight room will be open for lifting.

The Tippecanoe Valley High School pool will be available on a limited basis during this period of time due to pool locker room conflicts with various athletic teams. The pool will be available for water aerobics from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Jan. 19, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23 and March 2. The pool will be open for lap swimming from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the following Thursdays: Jan. 21, Feb. 18, 25 and March 4.[[In-content Ad]]There will be no charge for these activities, however, contributions will be accepted to help cover costs.

Child care for children in grades kindergarten to fifth grade will be provided by members of the Tippecanoe Valley High School National Honor Society.

In case of inclement weather, cancellation of the evening fitness/wellness activities at Tippecanoe Valley High School will be announced via local radio stations WROI-FM in Rochester and WRSW-AM & FM in Warsaw by no later than 6 p.m.
