Tippecanoe Valley Offers Summer Swim Opportunities

AKRON - The Tippecanoe Valley Learn-to-Swim Program will be offered at the Tippecanoe Valley High School Pool June 7-18.

The Learn-to-Swim Program provides instruction to help swimmers of all abilities and ages develop their skills in the water.

The Level 2 Class, which teaches fundamental skills, will run daily from 2 to 2:35 p.m.

The Level 1 Class for beginning swimmers follows from 2:45-3:20 p.m.

The Parent & Child Class, for children 6 months to age 4, is from 3:30 to 4 p.m. The Parent & Child class requires an adult be in the water with the child.

The cost of the Learn-to-Swim Program is $20 per child, $10 for a second child from the same household, and $5 for a third child from the same household.

If financial reasons will not allow a child to participate, contact Dawn Rowland at the Tippecanoe Valley Administration Office at 574-353-7741. Class sizes are limited.

Brochures/registration forms for the Learn-to-Swim Program are available from any Tippecanoe Valley school office. The deadline for registration and payment is May 28. Questions about the Learn-to-Swim Program may be directed to Emily Finken at 574-353-7031, Ext. 2340, or [email protected]

The Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. will offer Summer Swim Camp or students interested in competitive swimming the week of June 21-25 at the Tippecanoe Valley High School pool.

The camp is for level 3 swimmers or for students who can successfully swim a minimum of one lap of the pool without assistance. Swimmers entering grades 9-12 will swim from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by grades 6-8 from 2 to 3 p.m., and grades 3-5 from 3 to 4 p.m.

The cost is $22 per camper, $17 for a second camper from the same family, and $12 for a third camper from the same family. The registration fee includes a t-shirt. The deadline for registration is June 14.
