Timothy 'Scott' Brattain

On Oct. 10, 2009, in Peoria, Ill., he married his very own Lois Lane, better known as Jan Martin, who survives with their four legged child, Gridley, in Apex, N.C.
He graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School in Osgood and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was an avid collector of comic books, superhero memorabilia and an aficionado of pop culture. His love of KISS, old-school country music and bad TV shows was legendary – but nothing defined him as much as his love of comics. He put his powers to good use working at ACME Comics and Ultimate Comics.
His legion of super-friends knew that he would do anything for those he loved – of which there were many. He was gifted in his ability to fix almost anything and was actually ‘that guy’ who you could call on to help with the tasks everyone else avoided. He was known for his entertaining stories, which will be greatly missed by all.
Also surviving are: his parents Robbie and Danny Evans, Osgood; and Mahlon and Kathy Brattain Westport, five siblings; Tammy (and spouse Todd) Borgman, Batesville; Robert (and spouse Angie) Evans, Cross Plains; Jane (and spouse Randy) Hammons, Madison; Sara (and spouse Clay) Campbell, Fishers; Chase (and spouse Dawn) Brattain, Westport; and his father and mother in-law Mike and Julie Martin, Warsaw, and his nieces and nephews, who were his beloved Justice League.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Neal’s Funeral Home, 306 S. Walnut St., Osgood.
A celebration of life is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear their favorite comic shirt or apparel in Scott’s memory.

Memorials to Carolina Donor Services, Attn: Kirk Mizelle, 909 E Arlington Blvd, Greenville, NC 27858; or Caring Bridge at www.caringbridge.org/visit/scottbrattain.
It goes without saying that Scott would want the big reveal – yes, his secret identity was indeed Superman (sorry Clark Kent).
