Driving With A Blood/Breath-Alcohol Level Of .10 Percent Or Greater Plus Prior DWI Conviction - Fined $100 in December 1997, given a 1-1/2-year suspended prison term, ordered to pay a $200 alcohol interdiction fee and a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee and license suspended two years was John L. Gilbert, 61, Warsaw. Also, Gilbert shall not consume any alcoholic beverages during his probation term. Additional charges from this incident are dismissed through a plea agreement.
Fined $200 in November; sentenced to 1-1/2 years in prison, with all but 60 days suspended; ordered to pay a $200 alcohol interdiction fee and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark; and license suspended one year is was Harvey E. Ludwig, 50, Milford. Additional charges from this incident are dismissed through a plea agreement.
Fined $200 in September; sentenced to two years in prison, with all but 90 days suspended; ordered to pay a $200 alcohol interdiction fee and a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee, and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark; and license suspended one year is was John L. Myers, 43, Cromwell. Additional charges from this incident are dismissed through a plea agreement.
Fined $200 in June; sentenced to 1-1/2 years in prison, with all but 60 days suspended; ordered to pay a $200 alcohol interdiction fee and a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee, and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark; and license suspended one year was Carl W. Schuster, 57, Winona Lake. Additional charges from this incident are dismissed through a plea agreement.
Fined $100 in May; sentenced to 1-1/2 years in prison, with all but 60 days suspended; ordered to pay a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark; and license suspended one year was James E. Jackson, 23, Mentone. Additional charges from this incident are dismissed through a plea agreement.
Driving After Being Adjudged A Habitual Traffic Violator - Fined $300 in September; sentenced to three years in jail, with two years suspended for probation; and license suspended for life was Stephen C. Ashby, Silver Lake.
Sentenced to three years in jail in August, with 1-1/2 years suspended for probation, and ordered to pay a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark was Brenda L. Allen, Pierceton.
Fined $25 in June, given a four-year prison sentence, with three years suspended for probation and driving privileges suspended for life was Roy D. Landrum, 35, Claypool.
Fined $200 in June, sentenced to six months in jail, and license suspended one year was Roger J. Coleman II, 25, Cromwell. Conviction was entered as a Class A misdemeanor.
Sentenced to one year in jail in June and driving privileges suspended for life was Douglas C. Kahler, 27, Warsaw.
Driving While Intoxicated (Class A misdemeanor) - Fined $200 in August, sentenced to one year in jail was Brenda L. Allen, Pierceton.
Driving While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury - Fined $200 in June; sentenced to three years in jail, of which two years were suspended for probation; ordered to pay a $50 initial and $15 monthly probation user's fee and to complete and pay for an alcohol treatment program at Bowen Center or MedPark was Lance A. The following judgments were awarded in Kosciusko Circuit Court with Judge Rex Reed presiding:
Complaints
• First Bank National Association vs. David Minnix. Plaintiff awarded $43,996.66, plus interest, costs incurred, $1,000 in attorney fees, court costs and foreclosure of mortgage as prior to other liens, with sale of real estate to satisfy judgment.
• State of Indiana vs. Dan Runyon. Plaintiff awarded $3,777 by default, plus court costs.
• Midfirst Bank vs. Robert C. and Linda D. Gates, Miles D. and Maxine I. Igo, and John and Jane Doe. Plaintiff awarded $145,729.45 by default, plus interest, costs incurred, court costs and foreclosure of mortgage as prior to other liens, with sale of real estate to satisfy judgment.
Name Change
• Alice Jade Brown's request to change her name to Alice Jade Owens is granted.
Dismissals
The following cases were dismissed with prejudice:
• Jesse W. Reeves, by his next friend, Edwin W. Reeves, and Lori A. Crane, vs. Thomas E. Walgamuth, et al. All claims, cross-complaints and counterclaims are dismissed. Court costs taxed to plaintiffs.
• Thomas E. and Margaret Smith vs. Paragon Group of Plastics Companies Inc.
• Georgena L. Mitchell and Rachel E. and Grace T. Mitchell, by their next friend, Georgena L. Mitchell, and Robin Mitchell vs. John A. Perry. This case is dismissed as to the minor children, but remains pending as Georgena L. Mitchell vs. John A. Perry.
• Debora A. Salyers vs. Dr. Pepper/7-Up Corp. and Select Beverages Inc. Each party to bear own court costs.

• Gisella P. and Christopher W. Rooney. Couple awarded joint custody of their minor child. Jan. 29.
• Ryan D. and Crystal G. Becker. Jan. 29.
• Kristine J. and Lester H. Yeatts. Mother awarded custody of couple's minor child. No child support ordered at this time. Feb. 1.
• Nance L. and Roger L. Bruce. Feb. 1.
• Christina Sue (former name Homan restored) and Tommy Dale Whittaker. Feb. 1.
• Reggie A. and Paul Fisher. Feb. 1.
• Suzanne and Spencer Doty. Mother awarded custody of couple's three minor children. Father ordered to pay $176 per week in child support. Feb. 3.
• Teah Derise and Dolan Ray Wicks. Feb. 8.
• Christopher M. and Stephanie L. Swihart. Mother awarded custody of couple's three minor children. Father ordered to pay $109 per week in child support. Feb. 5.
• Toni A. and Daniel Lee Ryall. Father awarded custody of couple's minor child. Mother ordered to pay $53 per week in child support. Feb. 5.
Other Action
• Western United Life Assurance Co. vs. Penny Oviedo. Judgment and decree of foreclosure entered Oct. 13 is declared null and void, and case dismissed without prejudice.

The Watershed Foundation (TWF) and the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host a free Hoosier Riverwatch Workshop on June 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Webster Community Center.
