NORTH MANCHESTER - An educational opportunity at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community will give attendees practical ways to achieve financial stability in retirement. If this topic is not of interest to you, have you answered the eight questions you need to address before retirement? Steven Hammer, vice president and trust officer for First Financial Bank, will help answer questions. The presentation will survey some key issues each of us should consider as we approach our retirement years. Issues include planning for incapacity and health care decision-making, methods for transferring assets at death, using tax-efficient arrangements and incorporating personal values into our planning.

These educational opportunities are part of the Friends of Timbercrest Spring day April 24. The day will take place on the Timbercrest campus at 2201 N East St. in North Manchester. A food market and coffee hour will be open at 8:30 a.m. followed with the program The Church Has Talent at 10 a.m. This program will highlight talent from area churches. The educational opportunities: Estate Planning: Eight Questions to Answer Before you Retire and Saving Money and Energy, will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the educational and conference rooms as well as tours of the Timbercrest campus.

Timbercrest Senior Living Community is situated in a rural setting on a 104-acre site outside of North Manchester. It is a not-for-profit community owned and operated by and under the auspices of the Church of the Brethren in the State of Indiana; that provides housing and services to older adults. The 227,000 square foot manor offers apartments that allow residents to live independently or with minimal assistance. The Timbercrest manor also contains a Health Care Center with comprehensive nursing care and Crestwood Living Center, an area designed to care for those experiencing cognitive impairment. Also located on the 104 acres are Neighborhood Homes that allow residents to live amongst the Timbercrest campus and still have freedom from the rigors of home ownership.
