SYRACUSE - Tilda Stidams, 88, of Syracuse, died at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 9, 2009, in her residence.

She was born March 5, 1921, in Oneida, Ky., to Wesley Blaine and Sylvani Stewart Davidson. On Feb. 27, 1937, she married Dilbert Stidams, who died in 1997.

She lived in Oneida for approximately 18 years, moved to Salem in 1940, and lived in the Goshen/North Webster area ever since. She wintered in West Monroe, La. She was a homemaker and retired from Syracuse Rubber as an inspector. She was affiliated with Wawasee Lakeside Chapel.

Surviving are eight sons: Joe (and spouse Mary) Stidams, West Monroe, La.; Carl (and spouse Pam) Stidams, West Monroe, La.; Don (and spouse Sandy) Stidams, Columbus, Ohio; Delbert Jr. (and spouse Donna) Stidams, Oregon; Brad Stidams and Dale (and spouse Sherry) Stidams, all of Larwill; George (and spouse Joanne) Stidams, North Webster; and Wayne (and spouse Tracy) Stidams, Michigan; six daughters: Louise (and spouse Dallas) Wakley, Goshen; Vannie Swinheart, Warsaw; Patricia (and spouse Kevin) Koher and Billy (and Dan) May, all of North Webster; Kellie (and spouse John) Sicks, Pierceton; Liza (and spouse Larry) Jones, Syracuse; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with the Rev. Harlan Steffen officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
