Sands was the third-leading scorer for Warsaw, averaging almost eight points a game. The Tigers finished the year 18-5. Sands shot 40 percent overall from the floor, and his 81 percent performance at the free throw line led Warsaw in that category.
A member of the National Honor Society, Sands gained valuable experience off the court throughout his career at WCHS, working several community-service projects including this year’s Feed My Starving Children drive, and he served in internships with Judge Sutton and with Miner and Lemon. He also carries an 11.41 GPA on a 12-point scale.
Sands plans to study Political Science and play for coach Jason Polykoff. The NCAA-Division III program competes in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. In the back row (L-R) is Warsaw assistant coach David Wayne, head coach Doug Ogle, and assistant Hal Gunter.[[In-content Ad]]
