Tigers, Lady Vikings to Play In HOF Classic

NEW CASTLE  – Warsaw’s boys and Tippecanoe Valley’s girls basketball teams accepted invitations Monday morning to play in the 2016 City Securities Hall Of Fame Classic to be played in New Castle Dec. 29-30.
Warsaw will take on New Albany in the second semifinal on Dec. 30 The Bulldogs defeated McCutcheon 62-59 for the 4A state title on Saturday. Logansport and Lawrence North will play in the first semifinal at 11 a.m.
The Lady Vikings will take on 2016 Class 3A runner-up North Harrison in the second semifinal of the four-team tournament. Greenfield Central will take on Plainfield at 11 a.m. in the first semifinal.
The consolation games will be played at 6 p.m. The championship games will follow about 30 minutes after the third-place contests.[[In-content Ad]]

Valley Takes Lead Twice In 4th, Hangs On To Beat Glenn
Playing its first home game in four weeks as well as the final home game of the regular season, Tippecanoe Valley had to fight tooth and nail to pick up a Senior night victory over John Glenn. In a game that came down to the final seconds, the Vikings got a much-needed defensive stop to finish off a 22-21 victory.

Warsaw Battles Back Down 21-0 To Stun NorthWood 35-21
While Warsaw did not get the start that it wanted facing off against Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood Friday night, the Tigers certainly got the finish they were looking for. Down 21-0 early in the contest, Warsaw battled back, scoring the last 35 points of the game to pick up a 35-21 win in Nappanee, the school’s first since 2012.
